Where was this taken?
It might be the size you are uploading, use normal size to upload, because on here when they blow them up they are fuzzy.

Ooo...the color is so pretty!

Yeah, dA makes my photos look less then what I thought they were pretty often too - dumb thing. But yours look amazing, in my opinion. If you think they're even better - I'd like to see the originals. :wow:

thank you im glad you enjoy them :D

well i always have to increase saturation/contrast/and brightness to match the original, so if you look at the picture on the site and on my computer, they look the same. but if you open them both on my computer they look different. its so weird

The colors in this... I'm speechless:O They're so vivid and beautiful, and the fact that you managed to capture them... it's amazing, and the composition is very well balanced. This is so gorgeous, thank you for sharing:aww:

Also, I wonder: Do you use any filters to get the colors like that?

thank you :)

i used some, but not much. a few things that i always do is tweak the colors, as i find that cameras can never fully capture what you see in person, so i try to make it as close as possible

also deviantart likes to desaturate and blur my pictures when i upload them, so i have to compensate. sometimes they come out a little too sharp after i fix them. ive been trying to find the right balance

but its rare i ever do anything to a picture that makes it look different from how i actually saw it in person

"cameras can never fully capture what you see in person"
I see, I experience the very same thing, and I too do some tweaking:)

Hmm, that hasn't happened to me. Maybe it's because your photos are so awesome that dA's server would crash if it tried to preserve it in its awesomeness?;)

"but its rare i ever do anything to a picture that makes it look different from how i actually saw it in person"
That makes two us, although I'm no purist when it comes to editing photos, I just consider it a bit different kind of art than photos that you try to keep as close to reality as possible:)

I have the same problem all the time.

Everyone of my submissions look so much richer and more vibrant on my computer than they do on here.

How did you fix it in the re-upload? I mean, how did you get it to where you wanted it the second time around?

i asked the helpdesk about this, and they pointed me to a thread that says it could either be a color profile mismatch that is differs between the computer and the site, or we're uploading it in a low quality format. i dont understand either of those because it looks fine on my computer after saving, not just in photoshop :(

im thinking about asking on the help forums if there is any plan to fix it.

i sharpened and saturated it quite a bit, then blurred some of the sharpening artifacts. its not 100% to my liking but it will do for now.

Yeah, mine look fine on my computer too, and I know I'm uploading a high quality file format, so I don't know what the deal is.

I know if you download the original on here it looks right, but the smaller versions never do.

Kind of a pain.

Hmm... I don't know about the issue you've got there, but I do know that this piece has a brilliant, vibrant atmosphere! I really like the colours, although the saturation is possibly... a bit too much, in terms of the trees.

How the reflection has caught the colours is great and the point of view is lovely too. :)

thank you :D

the saturation is something that kind of got messed up while fixing it to reupload it. ill probably go back and fix it even more. just still frustrating

but thanks again :D
